In this show art meets maths using codes specially created by the artist. Colours are dictated by Numbers generated by a computer programme based on a Celtic grid system. The work was originally inspired by Albert Dürer’s etching 'Melencolia' where a magic square appears on the top right corner of the etching.

Liam wanted to turn the Numbers into colours to see the beauty of Numbers. He then went further to codify messages into numbers then into colour and back to numbers.

In addition to his painting and other art practices, Liam is also well known as an accomplished print maker. You can see an exhibition of his prints in Belfast Print Workshop. The exhibition is called 'ARAIS ARÍS- BACK AGAIN'.  (You can get more details by following this link.)
